CV-19 Update, please read: Whilst we remain open, we have implemented some new procedures to ensure social distancing guidelines are observed. We kindly request that all donors and customers phone ahead to inform us they are coming and remain outside the building on arrival. Donors can simply drop their bikes off and ring our bell to let us know. If you are dropping off a repair, we will accept the bike outside, take your contact details and then ring you with an estimate. At this time, we ask that repairs are paid for via telephone, when we can also arrange a time for you to collect. From Monday 30th March we will move to an appointment based system, please call 029 2061 6783 to book your slot.
We are committed to keeping Cardiff’s cyclists on the road, but we have to be safe. Hope to see you soon.
Jon Howes, Workshop Co-Ordinator
Cardiff Cycle Workshop is CTW’s award-winning bike-recycling enterprise and repair workshop.
Our mission is to increase access to cycling and reduce the number of bikes going onto the scrapheap. That’s why we take in unwanted and abandoned bikes, recondition them. and then sell them to the general public at our workshop sales.
Without donated bikes, Cardiff Cycle Workshop could not operate. It’s as simple as that! So, if you have an old bike you no longer need, for whatever reason, we’d be glad to to take it in. Provided you can bring the bike to the workshop, we won’t turn you away. If you can’t come during our opening times, you can leave the bike at the Cardiff Council Recycling Centres at Bessemer Close and Lamby Way where there are dedicated cages for bikes.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our workshop. If you have some spare time and would like to get involved in refurbishing our bikes please give Workshop Coordinator, Jon, a call on 07808 987798. Alternatively, you can download an application form here.
Are you planning to develop your own bike recycling project? If so, you can take advantage of our experience for help and advice. Please get in touch.
