Cycle Training Wales have teamed up with Anglia Compliance & Training to deliver FORS Safe Urban Driving training. FORS Safe Urban Driving training is now a pre-requisite if your organization is seeking FORS Silver Accreditation and qualifies as 7 hours toward the 35 required for Driver CPC periodic training.
The objectives of the course are for HGV Drivers to gain an understanding of:
- why and how city roads are changing to accommodate active travel, such as walking and cycling
- how to identify the most vulnerable road users (VRUs) and how they interact with traffic
- what it takes to be able to share the roads safely with others and how to apply defensive driving techniques in an urban environment
By giving Drivers a first eye view of what a cyclist sees, we hope to add to your skills as a professional driver to help keep other road users safe. We also provide advice on what a cyclist should and will do in certain circumstances.
We run courses every month here at our training centre in Gabalfa. To book a place, simply visit Anglia Compliance and Training.
If you would like a course run at your workplace, email andrew@cycletrainingwales.org.uk or ring us on 07971 706454.
